Favorite picture from the shoot this past weekend
I learned a something that day: I hate changes
At the beginning/middle of last week we were supposed to have a slightly overcast day on Saturday...Do you see the puddles back there? It was POURING! Which, totally threw me for a loop- It wasn't supposed to rain!! (Cue Baby Whining) I had all of these GREAT locations and poses planned out, but then it started raining on the way and I freaked. My brain got washed away with the rain. Thankfully we were able to take cover under bridges and tunnels and still do the shoot.

And this has nothing to do with the post, but last Thursday I got TWO shin splints. I haven't gotten them in YEARS. [not even sure HOW I got them. I warm up & cool down] I hadn't run since then until last night David & I went running. I had to stop running & walk some of the 2.4 that we did. Sucks! My exercises all involve my legs..which I am thinking I should keep resting. My question for you: What type of exercises should/could I be doing until my legs heal?

When I was in Vegas, I don't know what happened, but all of my ballet flats were HORRIBLE, and I've had shin splints for days! I've got nothin' for you.
I like doing pilates when my leggies need a break. I have a neat pilates video. You will be surprised on how much it works you if you haven't done it before.
The pictures looks great, sorry you got stuck in a rain storm. I would have whined too!
I don't know anything about fixing shin splints! I get them all of the time, so if you find out let me know!
Oooh 2/3 of my new workout is NOT legs... 1/2 abs/core and 1/3 arms. Try some crunches, some pilates, push ups, weight lifting w/ arms... if you use the right amount of weight and do enough reps, your body should feel like it's getting a solid cardio workout!! :)
First of all, I LOVE the title of the post- it made me lol. Second, I love that picture- despite the rain! Third, I'm clueless about shin splints. :)
Shin splints are quite possibly the worst things on planet earth.
Sorry to hear the rain interrupted your shoot; but you’re creative so I’m sure everything turned out just fine.
I love your blog! The picture looks amazing - rain or shine - I don't think it matters! :)
I tend to get shin splints on the treadmill...but I don't feel them on the elliptical. I do that instead and also some pilates for some leg work.
That picture looks fabulous!
Great picture!!! Hope the shin splits go away friend, hate them!
ouch! what about yoga?
Do ice massage for the pain. As for exercise, have you tried the pool? Anything you do on land can be done in the pool, & when you factor in the resistance the water gives you... one heck of a workout! The faster you move in the water the more resistance you get so its easy to adjust your intensity! (Can you tell I used to be a therapist?!)
Hope you feel better soon!!
Your pics are amazingggggg!! You guys are picture perfect!
I talked to my physical therapist and he said for you to do these things:
Ice it
Ibuprofen to reduce the inflammation
Stop running downhill (He said this is VERY bad for your legs. This is what's causing the shin splints)
He said the Pilates that someone suggested would be ok to do. He said that wouldn't hurt anything.
