One year: Paper

Our first anniversary (August 1) is quickly approaching.. which means that I have 10 days to figure out what I'm doing for us! Traditionally, the first year is to be celebrated with "paper"--did you all follow this? If so, what did you do? I'd like to do something more than a letter to follow that tradition.. I would love to buy tickets to somewhere nice..that would be much easier if I had a job..so that may just be a nice thought. I am signing two contracts on weddings this week and one next month- so that is nice.
Trusting God to provide and open doors is a lot easier than stressing! I. am. so. blessed.

I have two friends who do the traditional wedding gifts and I think it is such a nice idea. I'd like to use this when I get married too! For their first, she bought him tickets to a baseball game and he bought her a nice journal (she's been writing in them for years).

I love this photo of you both!!! If you would like to save money maybe make him a coupon book that he can use through the next year. Let us know what you decide to do!!! And...happy early anniversary!!! XOXO

great pic! you two are so cute :) happy anniversary! my mom followed the paper tradition and got us a basket full of awesome paper goods, like funky napkins, plates, wrapping paper, stationery, etc. but as for our gifts to each other, we started our own tradition. every year we go to a surrounding city and get a hotel room from "name your own price" on priceline and go out to dinner. its been awesome for us!

Looking forward to hearing what you decide to do- our 1 year is coming up soon too! Love that photo!

You hit the nail on the head with that last statement- "Trusting God to provide and open doors is a lot easier than stressing! I. am. so. blessed."

It is, and we are!!

My husband I just celebrated our one year anniversary and we stuck to the tradition. We sat down together the night of our anniversary with a bottle of wine and left over cake looked at our wedding photos and decided what ones we wanted to put in our wedding album. We used that as our gift to each other as the paper part, well and he surprised me with a beautiful letter.

Good luck on finding something special :) and happy soon to be anniversary!

Since I got pregnant almost immediately after our honeymoon, I gave my husband a daughter for our one year anniversary. Her birthday is one week before our date. I guess you could say I went traditional- with a birth certificate.
Love the picture!

Happy Early Anniversary!

I'm sure you'll figure out what to do. I would try to find something you could both enjoy together.

I really love the coupon book. That could be a gift that lasts more than a few days.

Mr. McB and I did the traditional paper gifts for our one year. It was in June and I bought him tickets to the SunCity Carnival (Kenny Chesney) concert. He took me to Baltimore for the weekend and gave me Baltimore Oriole tickets (my favorite team). It was a splurge to buy tickets for two things. However, I had a few other thoughts. I thought about putting a scrapbook of our first year together and I also thought about framing our vows on a nice paper. Hope that helps! :)

That's getting so close!!

We did follow this tradition. Matt gave me tickets to a cookie baking class and I gave him tickets to a basketball game.
