Change. [and this post has nothing to do with Obama]

Favorite picture from the shoot this past weekend
I learned a something that day: I hate changes

At the beginning/middle of last week we were supposed to have a slightly overcast day on Saturday...Do you see the puddles back there? It was POURING! Which, totally threw me for a loop- It wasn't supposed to rain!! (Cue Baby Whining) I had all of these GREAT locations and poses planned out, but then it started raining on the way and I freaked. My brain got washed away with the rain. Thankfully we were able to take cover under bridges and tunnels and still do the shoot.

____________________________________________

And this has nothing to do with the post, but last Thursday I got TWO shin splints. I haven't gotten them in YEARS. [not even sure HOW I got them. I warm up & cool down] I hadn't run since then until last night David & I went running. I had to stop running & walk some of the 2.4 that we did. Sucks! My exercises all involve my legs..which I am thinking I should keep resting. My question for you: What type of exercises should/could I be doing until my legs heal?

So Sweet..

I have this song continually playing throughout the day..it's a bit "cheesy" but the words..oh the words- I couldn't have written it better.

"LOVE OF MY LIFE (THE WEDDING SONG)"
(the link will take you to YouTube)
words by Darla Day
music by Mark Phillips
duet sung by Darla & Chad Day

I love you, the love of my life
I need you, our love is right
I've found the one that my soul loves
No other love means so much

I prayed to my God for a heart to keep
He gave me the one, He knew my needs
Over and over this love is sweet
I recognize the joy that makes our love complete
God gave you to me

You're the one I prayed for long ago
Fearless trust I never thought I'd know
I've found the answer to my dreams
My eyes were opened to love's mystery

I prayed to my God for a heart to keep
He gave me the one, He knew my needs
Over and over this love is sweet
I recognize the joy that makes our love complete
God gave you to me

The love of my life...

I love you, the love of my life
I need you, our love is right
I've found the one that my soul loves
No other heart gives so much
God gave you to me

You're the one I love
You are the love of my life

Exciting event..

Party Time..

Doing things backwards usually means missing out on fun parties, like a bachelorette party/bridal shower..but not to my girls! This weekend I was blown away by the kindness of my dear friends! We had AMAZING food at a Japanese restaurant, followed by drinks & fun at Marie's house.

Me trying to figure out how they go:
(you caught me..before now i've always opted with the "comfy" panties..so I don't know how the sexy ones go!)

((when I first picked these up I thought they were crotchless.. this is my "i'm trying to look happy but am totally disgusted and confused" look!!))
Me figuring the panties out:

I got so much great stuff! Thank you ladies!

Cannot believe i'm spilling this...

This morning I took my super cute Sadie baby out to do her business like I always do, and after she finished (and I scoop it up in my cute little pink doggiedoo bags) I noticed a piece didn't exactly come off.. yes folks she had a d i n g l e b e r r y. (I spaced it out because I do NOT want people coming to my blog typing that weird stuff in google!). I didn't want it coming in the house and falling on my carpet (grossssss!) So I did what any good and loving dog owner would do..
I made her run, and run, and RUN!
Trying to make it fall off
But every time she passed me it was almost as if it (yes the d i n g l e b e r r y) was getting more embedded and laughing at me! (kidding on this part) But it wouldn't go away!
So I flicked it off, Ok.
Now, if I were smarter --or even just "smart"-- I would have used another doggie doo bag..but I guess I don't make the big bucks for thinking. (I could have used a leaf, a stick..ANYTHING! I could have even picked her up scraped her butt across the ground--but alas i'm just not that smart.)

And there we have it folks
and absolute meaningless post
about my dogs butt.

Mom, i'm sorry my life has come to this.

To my Love <3 (PartDeuce)

Dearest David,
It's been a while since I publicly humiliated you-so before you get too ahead of yourself thinking I have nothing but love for you..let me fill you in on a few things..

When you ask what i'm making for dinner and I say chicken casserole (or any other type)..why is it that you give me the "ugh" face no matter what type of casserole I say i'm making? I know you "don't like casseroles.." and all, but when I say "oh I am just making a chicken dish" your eyes light up. Here's a hint.. the "casserole" part is just a name for it..but for you to actually eat my food and not act like i'm waterboarding you I will call it a chicken dish..

I don't mind that you haven't asked or seen any of the ceremony planning, but just so you know we are having a church ceremony on May 16th. Wear the tux- It'll be in the closet.

I love that you have your turbo super sweet toothbrush and all..but when it is at the end of Nights in Rodanthe and tears are just starting to well up..it totally ruins the moment that you are trying to get some pearly whites.

As always,
I love you.

Biggest F A N

My favorite photo from today:
[drool...drooooool]

I have to say--he was the most difficult client i've ever had!
"What do I do?"
"How do I stand?"
"How does my hair look?"
Okay, I lied about the last one..hehe

P.S. Don't you want to become my FAN?

I don't really know how that fan thing works, but I do know that right now i'm my only fan! (I hope I am not that lame, i'll blame the fact that I am not a superstar yet is because I just made the page today.)

Whats on my plate..

This weekend is going to be very busy--and a.lot.of.fun.

Tonight, I'm making David model for me.
[cause he's hot and I want male models on the website]

In 3 years I hope to have my own studio and quit my job.
[although, the extra income right now is nice!]

In hoping to achieve my goals, i've raised my prices slightly
[but obviously not for anyone i've already spoken to-don't worry girls!]

But my prices are still well below average.
Because, right now, i'm just loving being behind the camera.
I get butterflies before a shoot--
and as soon as I get home I start going through them
If that ever stops, so will my business.

Tomorrow, I have a couple shoot in Richmond --YipPeE!
There's a chance for another shoot on Sunday.
I'm also hoping to go around the neighborhood & pass out my postcards.

I have a couple of maternity/newborn shoots in the next few months and so excited for them.

Cleanup on aisle 3..

-I have two big globs of toothpaste on my shirt. While I was "deep cleaning" the house on Sunday there was a section that just NEEDED a good scrubbing via toothbrush...so I used mine--which was just a regular ole' toothbrush. David has one of those nifty beasts of a toothbrush (sonicare) but i'm not allowed to use it since I broke his last one..I pushed the stupid button in too hard. BUT i've been too lazy to go buy another $2 toothbrush so I've been using it. Some people are probably gagging right now, since I use his toothbrush..but it's better than doing the ole once-over with my finger and toothpaste.. ;) [[lightbulb]] I guess I could just get a new head from the drawer below and attach that--I'll do that the next time I brush. Now, back to the globs of toothpaste-- I can't use that stupid beasty brush because toothpaste flies everywhere!! But, I do like the way it makes my teeth feel like they had their own day at the spa.

[Did I really just write a whole paragraph on brushing my teeth?! Wow, i'm LAME-O!]

In futher news, Liz has invited people to take a beautiful photo she took for use as a desktop background here. I snatched it up--It is so lovely and just screams all things spring.

As if my opinion counts.

I don't tend to get "too deep" in blog land, but for those who know me in real life-sometimes I just can't stop talking. [remember in Kindergarten my teacher called me Motor Mouth-it still applies today]

Yes, this is "old news" but it's still on my mind!

The Chris Brown // Rihanna Story
If I were a teeny bopper I would include "OMFG" here. And if Rihanna ever comes across my blog--here's my shoutout to her: What the hell are you thinking getting back with him? (I think this is like the 2nd time I cursed on my blog--but seriously. What the HELL. Okay, mark me down for 3.) I just don't get it--I also don't understand why her father didn't step in instead of saying "I support my daughter in whatever she chooses" So you support her with a 'boy' that beat her face?!? Seriously, her dad isn't even a man. Let some stupid boy put his hands on my daughter in an inappropriate manner and i'll make him wish he hadn't.been.born.

I used to volunteer in a women's shelter..and sadly, it is SO common for women to go back to their abusers. Whew. It's draining.

"LOL"

NEW OFFICE POLICY

Dress Code:
1) You are advised to come to work dressed according to your salary.
2) If we see you wearing Prada shoes and carrying a Gucci bag, we will assume you are doing well financially and therefore do not need a raise.
3) If you dress poorly, you need to learn to manage your money better, so that you may buy nicer clothes, and therefore you do not need a raise.
4) If you dress just right, you are right where you need to be and therefore you do not need a raise.

Sick Days:
We will no longer accept a doctor's statement as proof of sickness. If you are able to go to the doctor, you are able to come to work.
Personal Days:
Each employee will receive 104 personal days a year. They are called Saturdays & Sundays.

Bereavement Leave:
This is no excuse for missing work. There is nothing you can do for dead friends, relatives or co-workers . Every effort should be made to have non-employees attend the funeral arrangements in your place. In rare cases where employee involvement is necessary, the funeral should be scheduled in the late afternoon. We will be glad to allow you to work through your lunch hour and subsequently leave one hour early.

Bathroom Breaks:
Entirely too much time is being spent in the toilet. There is now a strict three-minute time limit in the stalls. At the end of three minutes, an alarm will sound, the toilet paper roll will retract, the stall door will open, and a picture will be taken. After your second offense, your picture will be posted on the company bulletin board under the "Chronic Offenders" category. Anyone caught smiling in the picture will be sectioned under the company's mental health policy.

Lunch Break:
* Skinny people get 30 minutes for lunch, as they need to eat more, so that they can look healthy.
* Normal size people get 15 minutes for lunch to get a balanced meal to maintain their average figure.
* Chubby people get 5 minutes for lunch, because that's all the time needed to drink a Slim-Fast.

Thank you for your loyalty to our company. We are here to provide a positive employment experience. Therefore, all questions, comments, concerns, complaints, frustrations, irritations, aggravations, insinuations, allegations, accusations, contemplations, consternation and input should be directed elsewhere.

Clean & Crisp

[I love him so much.]
I am so grateful for a such good man.
I'm glad my hair is longer now than when this pic was taken.

I deep cleaned the house yesterday, ate Five Guys (mmm!), and watched Rock of Love (yes, I just admitted how much of a sucker I am for brainless TV)
  • I love the smell of bleach. I am happy when my bathroom & kitchen smells like bleach. mmm--so clean & crisp! I cleaned the whole house yesterday, the whole "spring cleaning" thing! There is nothing worse than getting those baseboards.. I should have invested in knee pads & a back brace! But they needed a good spanking to get them back into shape, they haven't been touched since we moved in in August. (I hate using "in in" or other double words like that.)
  • I bought the "new car smell" air freshener so it will never leave my car. If only there were a "bleach" plug in--I would stock up.

Look at all my fun stuff!

Natalie was my wonderful swap partner for Mamarazzi's Favorite Things Swap. I had an extra kick in my step when I was carrying the box back to the house..it was a little heavy and my head was swirling with ideas of what could be in there...

Look at all the goodies.. Cards, Mints, Starbucks Card & Mug, keychain, pad of paper, picture frame, candle, beauty stuff, a wallflower (which smells SO good!) I was so very spoiled.
Coasters! This is what made the box SO heavy! The best part... She "made" them! How awesome is that. Two of them have a "G" which I didn't notice until I went to use them later. How.Neat!
This is the only "before" picture I got.. everything was so beautiful, but I couldn't wait to tear into the packages to see what was behind the paper.. Sadie knew she shouldn't try and help me open the packages, so she tried sneaking up while hiding her face.

Thank you, Natalie!

Pedi

I have never had a pedicure. Crazy right? When the "fish pedicure" came out at this salon in Alexandria, I was still living in DC & I should have gone!
I think a few more places other than DC area now have these pedicures..has anyone done it? If not, would you do it? I still travel to DC quite a bit and may treat myself to one of these.
