Coming Together

Is it already Wednesday? Hopefully by now we can all get over the fact that Obama is President, and the celebrities can go back to LA. No offense to LA, but it's weird that Obama has become a celebrity. He's the President. I don't care what he's wearing or what he buys--I care about how he leads our country. Did you see the crowds yesterday? That is the first time I am totally glad I did not live in DC anymore. Whew, I think I would have had an anxiety attack--I felt sick just watching the TV. I went through a lot of "super crowded days" like when the Pope came to visit & all of spring time, especially during Cherry Blossom season. And of course who can forget morning metro rides.. I have never been more violated not on purpose in my life. I am proud to have "made it" in the big city--especially being from a town with no stoplights. But I am completely content living outside of Richmond with my David.

Further more.. Here is what has been taking up my time..I've been "crafting" I use that term loosely because I am not crafty.
These (above) were plain white candles that I dressed up using scrapbook paper.. and ribbon. I have made a lo more since I took this picture, and am so excited to use them~

This is my favorite thing i've made so far. I got the wooden "G" from Michaels and dressed it up a bit. I don't know where I am going to put it..but I loveeee it.

I agree with everything you said about YESTERDAY!!!! For real...it's okay to be happy about the change but it was almost circus like!!! Come on...he is our president...he is not Brad Pitt!!! Brad is in the movie world....Obama is in the REAL WORLD!!!!

My mom and I did this with the wooden letters. We painted the back sides and then put fun paper on the other sides. We did them for Christmas and did Jingle. They turned out really cute. We got the letter holders they had and put them in those. Very cute! I love your paper choices!

I love the candles and "G"! Nice job. Will the candles be ok to burn with the paper?

I live just outside DC (VA) and we went downtown yesterday. It was crazy! But the metro was no worse than cherry blossom time or after a nationals game.

I love your crafting projects! These would be perfect for me because I am not crafty at all and even I think I can handle this. I have a bunch of stuff leftover from the wedding and these are some great ideas.
