The only thing I know about football is what cheers to cheer when. I was a cheerleader (football and basketball) for 8 years and coached for 3 years. I miss coaching. I will have to dig up some old pictures to post. I was always a Cowboys fan, for no reason other than that was what my family was..but Dave is a HUGEEE Redskins fan.

Yesterday I pledged to become a Redskins fan too.
I am sure that the biggest sin to switch from Cowboys to Redskins

I think for Dave's October birthday (the big 25!!) I am going to take him to a Redskins game.. Which would be fun, I have never been to a big game like that.

I am happy football is here, because that means COLDER WEATHER IS COMING!! I loveeee Fall & Winter.

Birthday Stuff!
Dave got me two gift cards: for Target & Kohls (he doesn't suck at presents, it's what I asked for). I lovvee both of those stores. I still have SO much money to spend at both places so this was step 1 of my birthday gifts. The brown thing is a really cool thing to put my laptop on if I want to work from the couch, it keeps it so I don't have to look down and hurt my neck.
Lovely Lizzz got me these wonderful gifts!
I have already used the lotions & bath stuff.. Thanks Liz!
Instead of going to Red Lobster, I decided I wanted to go to a Japanese Steak House. (which is like tied to RedLobster with my love, but I didn't know there was one close by, but there was!!) It was a lottt of fun. Two things from this picture...1-i'm not that white. 2--my arm is not that fat. k? Thanks.

& as I promised...
A few shots around my house:

Half of the Kitchen
[Black, Red & White theme]

We got our couches today!
Now we just need a coffee table...

Two in one week?!?

Rebecca Alyce Francis

Becca took her life yesterday. It doesn't seem real. Becca was just as you see her in this picture, always smiling. I JUST spoke to her on friday and she was so excited to come see me in Richmond and for her and her boyfriend, Kevan, to stay with Dave and I one weekend while they went house shopping. Becca was 3 months pregnant. She told me before she announced it to everyone because she wanted to get to the point where she wouldn't miscarry. She was always told that she would NEVER have children, so this was such a miracle. Because her and Kevan were going to move up here she had asked if I would watch the baby because I stay at home and she could work. I was excited. This is the second horrible death in two weeks. Firstly, sweet Summer, and now, Becca.
It took cops two hours o find her body after they came to her house because her boyfriend called saying she texted him and said she was going to kill herself. (He was supposedly about 45 minutes away at his house) They were are her house when they heard a gunshot. They found her in the thick of a briar patch. It just doesn't make sense. Becca was happy, always happy. From what I heard from her cousin, they sent her body to Richmond to be tested because it "looked like it had been dragged." I had to talk to an investigator this morning and read him the texts that she sent me, proving she has been happy.
We will miss you, Becca.
YOU were such an inspiration
Through all of your trials,
you always kept a smile on your face.
We love you.

Angel Baby

Summer Jade This sweet little girl was taken from our world.
Way too soon.
I have known Summer since she was 2
I hold her father, Robert, dear to my heart.

Robert was an amazing father. After his divorce with September, he devoted all of his time to his daughter. September was driving, under the influence, at like 2am when she crashed with Summer in the car. From what my sister, Amy (who is a lot closer to Robert and Summer as she was neighbors with them), said, an old man held Summer as she died. When September realized what she did, she "fell" off the bridge-but it was probably intentional.

Is it bad to say that because of the person September was, and the sweet angel baby that Summer was, that I am glad September died? Is that to harsh?

Take a moment to pray for Robert, he lost his only little girl.

What would you do?

I am totally grossed out by trash. Especially kitchen trash, but I don't even like the trash can that's under my desk to have more than a couple pieces of paper in it before I am taking it out to the big trashcan. I can't take out the trash without gagging, so luckily that's one duty I now will not have to do.

With all of that said, we bought a TON of new stuff this weekend. (pictures will come later--maybe tomorrow when we can sort more things to their right places, it's HARD to move!!) We got 2 desks, a dresser, a 42" TV, entertainment center, and a bookcase.

Well, Dave was looking up the TV brand (to make sure it was a good one like we thought) and couldn't find it anywhere on the net, so he e-mailed me and asked if I could check the dumpster to see if it were still there. (We were going to return it)--(They do pickup on Monday) I was hoping that it wasn't.

I had to climb over trash bags to get our TV box.

To whoever didn't tie their trashbag:
How gross are you? My flip flop had to be thrown away because I got your nastyness on my shoe. Gross Gross Gross. Welcome to 2008, they do make the drawstring trash bags now, buy some!!
Shoeless woman.

Needless to say, I only gagged a couple of times and now we have our box back. But wait, Dave wasn't typing in the right brand so it turns out our TV is GOOD and we're keeping it!

I e-mailed Dave to tell him that I had successfully retrieved the box, this is what I got back:
I am so proud of you for getting the box baby...(he knows that certain chore is one I will NOT do) I will put it back tonight..(of course you will.) Can't wait to see you. (aww) Love you...(more aww) You are the bestest in the world...(even more aww!)

Survey Says..

I have A LOT to do at work today,
but who thinks I am actually going to do all of it?

I figured I would do a survey, because if I actually blogged today it would be mushy gushy stuff, and everyone likes a survey!

Where is the person who has your heart at the moment?
In Richmond---Moving the big things into our apartment && then on his way later to come get me and alllll my stuff !!! :D :D

Are you waiting for something?
YES--it's been TWO weeks since I saw Daviddd. I wont finish my thought..haha ;)

On the opposite sex where do you like them to have piercings?
Eh, Not really.

Have you ever kissed someone and hated it?
haha No.

Would you kiss the last person you kissed again?

What's the biggest turn off?
Hmm.. lying.

What do you like most, physically?
Hmm.. :) --Dave's muscles.

Have you ever dated someone more than once?

Could you handle a long distance relationship?
Yes, but they SUCK!

If you could go on ONE DATE with any celebrity, who would it be?
Vin Diesel....Check please! ;)

Do you like cuddling?

Do you regret dating anyone?
No, I am thankful---everything happens for a reason!

Hugger or kisser?
Both Please.

Missing someone?

Whats the most important thing in a relationship?

What would make you break up with someone?

Have you ever loved someone who didn't love you back?

How important are looks?
Well, there has to be the initial connection, so I'd say they are a deal breaker.

Do you like someone at the moment?
Oh yahh

When was the last time you wanted to punch someone in their face?
Not in a while..

What was the last thing you cried about?
Honestly, I have NO idea.

Do you have a friend you can tell stuff to and you're sure they won't tell anyone?
I do, more than one! Also blessed with some amazing sisters too.

Carolyn, Regina & Katie. (Roomies)

Have you ever cried while in the shower?
I'm sure I have.

Does the last person you held hands with mean a lot to you?

Could you go a day without eating?
Me? No way.

Is there someone you want to fight?

Has anyone ever told you they're in love with you?

Do you believe in true love?

When was the last time you were disappointed?
Two days ago.

Do you miss your past?
No. Thank. You.

Honestly, when was the last time anyone saw you in your underwear?
Oh man, it's been at least 2 weeks! hahah

Men, you probably don't want to read this!

You're probably thinking, "What the heck is that?!?"
Well friends, THAT is my NEW BEST FRIEND!
It's called a "Diva-Cup"
It is used in place of tampons.
Saves money, economically friendly)

You can reuse it over and over. I used mine this whole week during my period & it was so greaaat. No leaks, spills, or anything of that sort! You can't feel it, so it doesn't "hurt"--It took a day to get used to, but I will never go back to tampons. The best part is, that it can be left in for 12 hours! You can even sleep with it in. So, basically you empty it in the morning & night--and waalah, no remembering to change the tampon every 4 hours.

You should REALLY get one of these!

The Good Stuff

Things I won't miss:
I wont have to take the metro to work.
No more getting squished.
Paying too much for lunch
Or ruining my favorite heels.

& the best more sleeping alone! :D

Dearest DC,
We have had a lot of fun together, but it's time we part. I am hoping that Friday comes quickly because I am very excited to start this new chapter of my life. I will miss your beautiful buildings, but I have taken many pictures to remember you by. I promise I will come and visit. Afterall, you are the place I will always remember falling in love. I came here hoping for endless opportunities, and you have opened your doors widely. I leave with an amazing career and many new friends. Thank you for showing me all of these things.

Three Strikes, You're OUT!

I am so glad my life is not a baseball game.
I would have been struck out a long time ago.

Strike 1: Aunt Flo is in for her monthly visit. Even though since being on the pill it is much lighter and I know when she's going to strike, I am exhausted--and my body aches.

Strike 2: MoneyMoneyMoney! Does anyone have a money tree? If so, can we cut some of it off so I can grow one of my own? To make a LONGGG story short (and compress a couple month's worth of stress into a few short sentences!) My dad had to borrow some money from me, and I didn't have the amount he needed so I lent him my credit cards. He was supposed to make the minimum payments. 4 months later and I have paid over 1500 towards them and I keep hearing, "I just need a little more time." Things are tight right now, I understand that, and I have never known him to be in this situation--we were always able to buy whatever we needed and wanted. I hope something changes soon!

Strike 3: A lot of Doctor's in DC are supposed to be switching from accepting insurance, to not, and making you file a claim with your company. I went to one such office twice with their assurance that BCBS was going to repay me most (if not all). $500 later, got an EOB from BCBS saying they weren't going to pay anything. Jerks. I am going to try and appeal it.

Strike 4: Bossman. No explanation needed.

Strike 5: NOT going to Richmond to see Dave this weekend :( Going to stay in DC and pack my stuff up for August 15th move in.

..Ok, so i've complained enough.
I will have to list 5 things I am thankful for.

1. Hey, at least i'm not pregnant :) :)

2. I got small check that will clear the bank on Friday from when my Father died - So I will be able to pay off the credit cards. ((BTW, when I say DAD I mean my Stepdad--- Father = Father))

3. In going to the DR in time (because it was one of those walk-in clinics) I had a bladder infection (yes, both times. The first time the drug wasn't strong enough), if I had waited to make and appointment with my regular DR it could have been a lot worse.

4. Bossman has been a lot better about explaining what he wants me to do. He is sooo intelligent and has a lot of ideas floating around his head and sometimes but has a hard time explaining what he wants done. That can be frusterating for the both of us. But I have heard from the President of my company that Bossman thinks I am the best assistant he's ever had! :)

5. While not going to Richmond this weekend, I will be going and moving into our new apartment on August 15th--and I will see him every day, and his job allows him to work 5 days one week, and four the next--so on every other Friday he'll get to sleep in with me for a bit. (Then I have to get up and work, boo!) Oh, did I not tell you!? I am going to work my same job, from home. So even thoug I am moving from DC to Richmond, I keep my same job-title-and salary. AHHMAZINGG!

And to add one more good than bad
I am thankful for all of you.
You have become good friends
Even though I have never met you
I look forward to reading your updates
& learning more about your lives.
And for each of those that left me something to pray about
I did.
And I will tonight too.

Tuesday, August 5, 2008

I have been trying lately to get back into prayer. Some people, like my wonderful mother pictured in the post below believes that you cannot get through the day without prayer and taking time to read the Bible. Most of my days, I get through just fine without them, but I wonder how things would be different if I learned to pray more. (ok, I sound like a horrible person-I'm not saying I don't NEED God in my life.)

So, we're starting slowly here.
For the next month I am going to make time to pray every day.

This is where I need your help!)

I feel like I don't pray as much because I always pray about the same thing. So, I am asking you to leave a prayer request. For one month I am going to take time to pray for you and whatever situation you're going through. If you don't want to leave it on my blog, send me an e-mail megchid AT gmail DOT com. Even if you AREN'T religious--there has to be SOMETHING going on in your life that you need a "little help" with. I'll check back in and see if there are any updates on the situations.

I want to be completely honest with my blogging friends!
..but I have a feeling that there is at least one person reading my blog that knows me personally and I don't want them to know about my life..

So, Liz, who is the only person that I actually know outside of blogland gave me the idea to ask for an e-mail to send out the details.

The "SECRET" that I was talking about a few posts back has happened. :)

Leave your e-mail if you want to be filled in with the JuIcY dEtAiLs.
